What is "Cross Court Payments and Filings"? A philosophy about public service in the court system that promotes complete assistance to the customer regardless of which "counter" or "window" or "court facility" the citizen appears at. About this program . . . . Being the only known program of its kind in the State of California, the Cross Court Payments and Filings program is an innovative and efficient approach to improving customer service and increasing the public's access to court services. Customers are provided with a convenient, efficient, and quick way of handling their court-related matters. The Superior Court of Riverside County implemented this program whereby all court facilities within the district accept court payments and filings for all superior court matters, regardless of case type, jurisdiction, or court location. All court facilities located in Riverside County accept documents and their respective filing fees for Probate, Family Law, Civil, Small Claims, Traffic, Criminal, Juvenile and Appeals matters. In addition, all facilities accept and post traffic and criminal fine payments and bail forfeitures, schedule traffic court trials and process requests for traffic school, continuances and fine extensions. For example . . . . An Orange County resident recently appeared in the Riverside facility's minor offense division to clear a "hold" that had been placed on his driving privileges because of an outstanding speeding ticket and failure to appear. The motorist wanted to pay for the ticket and obtain an abstract to provide to the Department of Motor Vehicles to show proof of "clearance". This might seem like an everyday occurrence, but the motorist received the ticket in Blythe, over 170 miles (one way) from Riverside, while on his way home from Arizona. If this program had not been implemented, the motorist would have had to travel several hundred miles to Blythe to pay the ticket and get the abstract that was needed immediately. Another example . . . . A Riverside County resident appears at the Riverside Civil Division to file a response to a civil law suit filed in Indio. If this program had not been implemented, the customer would have been provided directions and a map to the Civil filing counter in the Indio Court facility. In addition, since our imaging system is countywide you can obtain a copy of your document(s) at any court location!! |
