Notice to Members of the Media:

Pooling arrangements have been ordered for the February 23, 2018 hearing in the case of People of the State of California v. David and Louise Turpin (RIF1800348). Pooling arrangements must be made directly between members of the media. On the day of the hearing, pooled media must report to the courtroom by 1:00 p.m. and follow instructions by the courtroom deputy. If you are not a pooled reporter, you may be allowed into the courtroom as a spectator without any recording equipment, however seating will be limited so please plan accordingly. Please follow instruction by the courtroom deputy. The court does not provide space within the courthouse to stage media equipment. Entry into the courthouse will be directed by the Sheriff’s Office as appropriate. Full screening requirements apply.

Thursday, January 18, 2018 (11:00 am)

The District Attorney stated that they will be filing charges in the David and Louise Turpin case. The arraignment will be held in Department 54 at 1:30 pm today in the Hall of Justice, 4100 Main Street, Riverside. Judge Michael Donner has issued a blanket order regarding media coverage. All media personnel are expected to comply with the order. Entry into the courthouse and courtroom will be at the direction of the Riverside Sheriff’s Office.

Charges in this case have not yet been filed. The District Attorney is expected to hold a press conference at 11:00 am today after which time we expect to have more information about the hearing and a ruling on media coverage. Please check this site frequently for updates.

A complaint has not yet been filed by the District Attorney’s Office in this case. Please continue to check this website frequently for any updates, no individual emails to media will be sent. If you have not yet submitted the Media Request MC 500 Leaving site and MC 510 Leaving site forms, please do not do so until further direction is provided. Thank you.

The district attorney has not yet filed charges in this matter. Arraignment is expected on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:30pm in the Hall of Justice, Riverside.
